Dynamat
Just thought I’d let you all know about a product I found out about today while I was at Source Sounds in Chappletown, It’s called Dynamat.!!!!!!
What is Dynamat I hear you say.?????
I was talking to Lee a guy who works there and asked him to explain what it is and how it works.
Wel,l we expect to get the best sound from our new speakers, but even the best speakers create sound distortion. In a car this can ruin the sound. High quality car audio depends on the right installation material.
Apparently we can eliminate/reduce speaker distortion by applying Dynamat to the flimsy metal sheet surrounding our speakers.
The faster you drive the louder the road noise; as the road noise increases the music goes away. A new amplifier can make the music louder, but it can’t restore the music hidden by the high noise level. Virtually all of that noise enters through the doors.
A Dynamat door kit restores as much dynamic range (dB’s) as a new amplifier adds, even with an amplifier that is double the wattage of your old system.
So I thought ( I knew I was thinking because I could smell burning.) While I’m here having a new stereo and speakers fitted I’ll have the Dynamat door kit fitted at a cost of £15.00.
What a massive difference it’s made. It’s absolutely fantastic. I would highly recommend this product.
A big thanks to Lee and Paul at Souce Sounds.

Been meaning to get this done for a while, but had various comments about weight against effectiveness etc
But i reckon i will get it done either Dynamat or i guess the cheap version flashing tape(Oooh that sounds like it could be painful) in comparison how good is the tape matt ? £15 a door doesnt sound too bad.
TBH i dont really listen to music that much as im not really a music connoisseur, but it would be nice to drown out some of the engine/road noise.
