Fantastic little pub, just along the canal from Matt and Fi's.
For anyone who loves real ale, its blinding.
It has its own little brewery out the back and they serve what they brew in the pub.
Matt and I had to sample one of each brew for research purposes

The downside to this great boozer was that no pie was available. I don't know if this is a permanent arrangement of if they had just run out.

Instead we all had a balti, which was alright and a side order of "banana mush"
I am informed (by a bloke in the lavs) that the chef is world class having worked in Haxey, Gringley on the Hill and Maltby.

Maybe we need to start a campaign. We could all ring up and ask if they serve pie in various different voices and sound immensly dissappointed when they tell us they don't do pie.
The chef certainly was world class. He really has mastered the art of emptying a jar of sharwoods into a pan of fried lamb offcuts and serving with a slice of tomato, cumcumber, lemon for the ultimate in culinary delights win.
It was a funny place. They were dead quiet, had no menu so the chef/landlord just ran thru what he remembered seeing in the freezer (mmmm, nice fresh fish FTW!!!!1), the chef/landlord set us up with our scran and then just stood there watching us eat and I think they were put out having to serve food at 7:30 in the evening.
Top, top beer tho!

Good to see you guys.

I reckon we should do a "flashmob" and demand pie!!

Forgot to mention the landlords customer service skills, calling Karen a freak within 5 mins of us entering the pub!!

I like cauliflower cheese, but I couldn't eat much of the stuff. That must make me a quasi-freak, the diet coke of freakness - just one calorie.
