Andy, you should write a manual!! These tips are really only for the serious mechanic! lol

jc1301

ohhh sounds good
i take it we would help each other out ?? as i am abit dim some times lol

where can i get gear and diff oil from ???
nathmill85

gear oil from motorfactors... i would presume that diff oil is the same stuff tbh...

they sell it in 1l bottles usually
jc1301

whats the best grade of gearbox oil to get
and how much quantity ???
roadsterbloke

i would check first that the oil can be inserted without the use of a pump, im not sure on the mx5, i know some vehicles need gearbox oil ect pumping in, if so we wont have that type of equipment to do it,
nathmill85

AFAIK its two bolts on the box... One at the top for going in and one at the bottom for draining out... most gear oil bottles have telescopic nozzles for pouring in the oil up to the bolt level...

there is a third bolt as well which when undone fucks everything in the gearbox and locks all the gears together meaning its rebuild time... check in rods manual first or on the OC forum for specifics...

like idea of this tech day..also thinking bring a bbq down.............
