Right well i mentioned beforehand the the forester needed a bit of work to get up to scratch, so today i made a start, by removing the ton of tar stuck to the bottom half of the car.

Loads of the stuff, cant remember seeing any car worse than this, so a quick wash and a pic or two to show the mammoth task ahead!

Forgot to get pictures of the bottom of the bumper by the back wheels, but they made the doors look clean! Bloody RWD bias!

So a quick dig around the box and out came the tools for the job, Autoglym Intensive Tar Remover, and some clay and lube. Slowly worked round the car with the tar remover first, very time consuming job, luckily the forester is jacked up to quite a comfortable job to do sat on the floor. oce I'd removed most of the tar, the entire bottom half was clayed, fetching out huge amounts of tar still engrained into the paint.

Time taken... 2 hours!!!

Really didn't expect it to come out that well, still the odd bit left but suitably impressed with the result!

thats what i did for nutz last year at JAE damo, i offered to do 2 cars, 1 each day to generate a bit of interest in the stand and for people to stop pick up a few tips etc, was going to do claire on the sat and fi on the sunday, but the flooding put pay to fi turning up.

now if everyone is interested i will see about doing the same thing one weekend, everyone brings skills and knowledge and shares them differently

my expertise is cleaning and fi's is bacon butties, yet to find yours tho lol

the issue is having power for the polisher as hiring even a small genny aint cheap.

Its also very weather depndant so a venue with cover is essential. I'll have a word with my supplier as hes just moved into a new unit in huddersfield, I've used his old unit to do some stuf before so he may let me use it again.

We have got a genny. Dunno if it's Matt's or mine, but I could ask him if I can borrow it. Damo. the cheek of it! Of course I am not expecting Andy to do the whole car...I will happily do the front bumper!

Nah, am quite happy to have a go meself, although if Andy wants bacon butties, I can do that!!!

For goodness sake - it took me three years of willful neglect to achieve that standard of cleanliness for the Forester, and you go and ruin my lack of effort almost overnight

talking of talents i think ya'll find fi's is baking cakes

if ya want somewhere to hold a masterclass, i could open up at work, 240 & 110 power, a kettle ( thats clive & damo sorted )

indoor parking if req'd , outdoor parkin for twenty cars plus, no oven for bacon butties but a microwave, if push come to shove i could bring a gas bbq for catering purposes,

would need notice though to make sure work shop was not being used

theres two workshops side by side so could combine wiv a tech day ?
