Door lockHey people,
bout 6 months back some breasticle tried breaking in my car and suceeding only to be scared off by the car alarm. Anywaysm they easily got in by the looks of it so make sure your all locked up inside and nothing hidden or on show. They just put screwdriver in key hole and pushed it to the side, this then poped the door open or summet, luckily the alarm scared the F~@k out of them.
Anyways they teared the chrome handle and i replaced that, the key drum part rattled alot and sometimes struggle to open with the key. But 6 months on and i can get in the car with the key on that side, so new part needed.
Got a price of £12 inc delivery off ebay for a barrel. Is there anywhere in sheff i can take it to make my key turn the lock.
Thanks for your help

Nah the barrel looked to be in place, they managed to tear with force just above the barrel(inch above) which basically made the chrome surroud useless, but that was replaced awhile back.
yeh cool thanks for link. £60 for a lock tho hmmmz. Ebay price was £12 but would need to find a place to tune the lock to my key....which is possible right? Ill email dandy tomorrow, see whats what.

I 'think' you can do it your self using the bits out of the old barrel. It may have a been on a VW forum for buses but the same applies. See if you can easily dismantle it, if you can, it's a job for a steady hand and you have to be meticulous with the order of 'bits' obviously, but do-able. (I'm not volunteering)

Yeah, I agree! I have done it a few times with barrel locks at my old place of work.
No good if you've been drinking the night before or if you're a bit "shakey" in general.
I too am not volunteering mate!!!
Good luck
