mate you'll now find the sanwich plate is more expensive than the cooler... try and get on with a thermostat valve so oil isn't passing through the cooler when cold...

Funny you should say that, i was on Nutz reading up and they all recommended a thermostat, but when i put it to Steve he said no ya dont want/need a thermostat ? Not being funny or owt but i think i will so thermostat then ?

Well specifically its not mandatory at this performance level but i would as the presence of an oil cooled turbo being slapped onto your engine... Im not sure of the effects of prolonged cold oil circulating around your system but as its designed to work at temperature then i assume its not great...

would have thought it part of the sandwich plate design mate - as opposed to just an open unit that bolts between the filter and the filter housing... not sure of the design mind as you dont want the thermostat to just bypass your filter when the oil is cold!
