TyresNeed 4 new tyres.
thinking abou Goodyear Eagle F1's as everyone raves about them and I've never had any.
I've currently got Bridgestone 205/50R15 85V on at the mo as they were on when I got her last summer
Anyone else any suggestions? What have you all got on at the mo?
Also, as I'm not a Sheffield lad, anyone suggest the cheapest/most reliable place to buy from?
Do Kingsport do tyres Gangsta?

In terms of the place, I'd go for Hawleys tyres.... branches all over the city nearest to me is at Halfway.
At the moment i'm runnin 4 lassa impetus sport tyres 215/40 on 16" rims. I was a little dubious at first as I would have ordinarily gone for Toyo Proxes (which I had on previously). However, I was tight on time and the lassas were in stock (unlike the toyos which seem to take a age to get hold of).
Anyway, to cut a long story short.... fantastic tyre... perform and look great... not all that expensive either
Certainly worth a look........!!
Cheers

Howdy,
nah Kingsport just sell the alloy.
Think best thing to do is go here http://www.etyres.co.uk or here http://www.valuetyres.co.uk . They seem alot cheeper than anywhere iv ever seen. My girlfriend orderd from value tytres and was happy with her F1's.
Order from online and get them deliverd to your house. Then you can phone around to find the cheapest place to fit them, probs around a £10 each side. Will save you loads, dont buy them with the option of fitting as i think they charge too much as aposed to going straight to a fitter.
Hope that helps

F1s end of. If it's nice next week you can go for a ride in mine and feel the responsiveness and progressive breakaway of em. I love em. I use mytyres/etyres i forget which one, but I have the bloke personal mobile number down in the midlands so he undercuts them. If you get a fitter out, ask for his mobile number and tell him he'll get plenty of 5 business if he does a good price in the future. They're basically freelance and pay e/my tyres 6%ish.

Been tyre shopping this afternoon.
I have been informed from all 3 of the places visited that the Eagle F1's are not made in my size (205/50 15V)
and one place told me I couldn't drop down to the 195 width.
What size have you got on doodle?
I can have Goodyear NCT5 or Toyo T1R in my size or look for sommat else
Better start hunting again!

I'm pretty sure they're talkin oot their rears mate. I'm pretty sure those are my dimensions (canneh check, teh bus is parked outside this week due to burst rad). What width are your tyres? I'm guessing if you can't drop to 195, then going up to 215 would be fine, but I'm pretty sure mine are 205s on a 15" rim, 50 aspect. Try going online and going thru the order process on etyres/mytures to see if they can get em.

Have done that also mate, when I put in 205/50 15's, none of the sites come up with Eagle F1's!!
Must admit, I've not put in 215/50 15's
Will have a look in a bit.
Can get the Toyo's for just under £60 a corner

F1s are about 52/53 fitted thru the one that comes out and fits em, plus they're slightly harder wearing with no reduction in grip. I know I'd eat thru Toyos in no time at all.

Right! Mine are 195/50R15V on a 6.5" rim I think.
48.90 a corner inc VAT fitted at your home/place of work. Nay bother. Don't help you tho.
What width are your wheels? 7" I guess? 195s will fit, but will be quite stretched and some places don't like doing that. I didn't reallise there was that issue with F1s and 7" width tyres. It does look like Toyos might be the way forward.
Bit of an expensive size you got there! The toyos are 67 squid on Etyres fitted.

Ive got Lorber 15x7's so I'm guessing thats the prob and would also explain why one of the garages said they wouldn't fit the 195's.
Will prob go with the Toyo's as they seem to get excellent reviews and every-one suggests them or F1's (and I cant have them!!)
I think they'll wear well as I don't really use the car Monday to Friday

Had the Toyo Proxes T1R's fitted today!
Looking good, just need to reclean the rims and allow them to bed in!
Happy days

I just had a pair of F1s put on the rear. Turns out Etyres have got a subby in Doncaster now. Got his private card for even cheaper rubber in the future. 48 squid a corner fitted outside work ain't bad, but if he can improve on it then great!
