Wanted-Possibly ?

One of these

Only need a little runabout to fit 3 in when we all go out together, and the 4wd might come in handy for bad weather. What other small 4wd cars are there ? Plus i think with a few little additions it could look cool

Thoughts ? cos i always get carried away when i get something in my head like this. Half decent older ones can be got for around £800 but i could go a tad higher. What dya think ? alternatives ?

Also just(y) found this as well

I have no intentions of doing anything like the modded ones above. I'll maybe swap the wheels and improve it a bit. Want to stay original and old skool. Lol

Lol just(y) showed Lise and she wasn't impressed with the top picture but liked the bottom two Lol   Told her we wouldn't be going that far !!
Wonder what size wheels they are ? 13" ? They do look tiny

OR

OR

This is some bits of justy stuck together, but has graphics so that makes it cool

have i sold you on it yet ?

Or

nathmill85

go for it mate - cant say ive seen one with tracks though...

you could get a 323 turbo 4x4 but then you will spend 3k instead of 700 quid - i still think you should buy one and a rear ended swift turbo and swap the engines over... then it'll be cool..

Lol   Andy n Chris are gonna love you mate    But yeah ya not the only person to say do an engine swap n put a swift engine in. Which one would you put in though ?

Lol this is really making me chuckle           I've had my 5 two years and it's still not anywhere near being remotely there, and we're talking about doing an engine swap on a car i haven't even bought yet

I do love the idea though and i promise i would pay everybody !! and get in the foetal position, and do a lot of graft myself. LOL it's something i've always wanted to do but obviously being me wouldn't have a clue how to do it !!

Why do people keep saying 4wd on a small car what a waste of time !! Surely 4wd is good on a car if you want 4wd !! If we have to drive up n down hills in snow n rain surely it's better than a standard front wheel drive which is what most cars are. Also which is best 2wd with optional 4wd with the press of a button or permanent 4wd ?
dj..john

Drove one of those a few years back and was ok but 4wd cars not as economical as 2wd. Plus more to go wrong. And I don't think we've had real snow this century. What about a toyota starlet/corolla or normal 323. Japs nearly always best when buying cheap!

Scoobies are Jap ! when you put "normal" in a sentence it sort of loses it's appeal    I have been looking at 323's for a while now, but the thought of a small 4wd scooby appealed to me. It will mainly be used for the school run which is lots of steep hills, sharp corners and roads with running water, and trips to M/hell, cinema etc. I thought it would be a tad safer than the 5 or a "normal" fwd. It would get used for the odd long trip, but we have been together a year and only needed a larger car a few times. The car has optional 2wd or 4wd so the mpg can be slightly better, and i've seen reports on them getting 45-50 mpg.
dj..john

Just thinkin of price of petrol these days mate. Probablly get extra 10 mpg out of fwd car. But gotta say the little scooby is more novel. You'll be able t go off-roading an all that stuff!!!

Nah i reckon it's a tad low for off roadin   i'ts just something a bit different thats all, i really do hate the mundaneness(if there is such a word) of modern cars. What exactly are the drawbacks to 4wd ? how much more unreliable are they ? going back to the previous post permanent 4wd or push button choice fron 2 to 4wd ? I want the 3 dr version, which seem to come up less regularly, also not sure which version to go for at mo despite researching it, any ideas ?

A couple more pics. The more i read up on the forums about these cars the more they seem like little gems.

Seems like a bitch to get hold of a good un in the UK though.

I'm probably going to have as much chance findin the right car as gettin the snow to drive it in

Hi all, please could you tell me what you think of this. I'm obviously not gonna pay what she wants but was hoping she might go down to £900 as she seems to want to get rid asap.
Reading all the reviews on them it says that there are better cars for less money, but reading from the owners, they love em to bits. I guess a bit like us with our 5's. Lise says the 4wd will be great over winter on some of the hills and back lanes she takes Amy to school on.
Am i slightly obsessed with an idea, and being unrealistic, or do you think that it could be a little cracker ?
