were all mechanics of sorts... its just that clive has superior technical knowhow regarding cars...he just chooses to communicate telepathically through andy thats all...

i have some technical expeicence
i can change plugs air filter etc
but i dont have any jacks or axle stands to change any fluids

i think theres a tech day coming up this sunday, there'll be jacks n ramps there, keep ya eye on the runs n meets posts.

gear oil from motorfactors... i would presume that diff oil is the same stuff tbh...
they sell it in 1l bottles usually

i would check first that the oil can be inserted without the use of a pump, im not sure on the mx5, i know some vehicles need gearbox oil ect pumping in, if so we wont have that type of equipment to do it,

AFAIK its two bolts on the box... One at the top for going in and one at the bottom for draining out... most gear oil bottles have telescopic nozzles for pouring in the oil up to the bolt level...
there is a third bolt as well which when undone fucks everything in the gearbox and locks all the gears together meaning its rebuild time... check in rods manual first or on the OC forum for specifics...
